Morocco’s Ziyech in Doubt for Argentina Clash After Ankle Injury

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech could miss the next two matches of the Moroccan national football team. The player was forced to leave the field early in the match played by Ajax Amsterdam this weekend.
In this match against AZ Alkmaar, which was lost 1-0, the player left the field in the 22nd minute following an ankle injury, the severity of which is not yet known. The club is expected to communicate on the condition of the Moroccan striker on Monday.
If the injury is confirmed, the player could miss the gathering of the Atlas Lions scheduled this week for the two matches they have to play against Malawi, in the 2019 CAN qualifiers (March 23), and the friendly against Messi’s Argentina, scheduled for March 26 in Tangier.
Yesterday, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) had already announced the unavailability of Amine Harit for the next two matches following an injury sustained during Schalke 04’s training, which would result in a 1 to 3 month stoppage for the player.
