In Morocco, wild boars are proliferating in the city
The proliferation of wild boars is increasingly worrying the residents around the city of Oualidia. Several farmers are denouncing significant damage to their fields and fear for their safety. In the province of Sidi Bennour, the situation has become difficult to manage for the rural populations.
Groups of wild boars are infiltrating the crops day and night. They are destroying the plantations of corn, cereals and vegetables by turning over the soil and breaking the protective fences. For small farmers, these material losses are heavy and directly threaten the year’s harvest.
These wild animals are now approaching very close to the houses and roads in the region. Residents are afraid for the children who are walking and for the motorcycle drivers who risk collisions during night outings. Several accidents have already been reported following sudden appearances of wild boars on the communal paths.
