Morocco: Deadly wild boar attack in Sefrou

A routine workday turned to tragedy in the province of Sefrou. Two farmers were violently charged by a wild boar as they were working in their fields on Friday evening, an attack that cost one of them his life and left the other in critical condition.

The incident took place in the Mellaha district. The two men were busy planting vegetables on the banks of the wadi when they were surprised by the animal. The sudden irruption of the huge beast left them no chance, the brutal charge causing deep injuries to the two victims who had to be evacuated urgently.

The toll is heavy. The first victim succumbed to his injuries at the Mohammed V Hospital in Sefrou, the resuscitation attempts having failed. His colleague, also injured, was transferred to the university hospital center in Fez where he is receiving care, his health condition remaining worrying.

An "imminent danger" for the local population

This tragedy has caused a strong emotion and growing anger among the inhabitants. An associative actor in the region cited by Al3omk, affirms that this event is not an isolated case but is part of an increase in attacks by wild boars. These animals now represent a double threat, weighing both on the physical security of citizens and on their crops, the only sources of income.

Faced with this situation of constant fear, the population is calling on the authorities to act quickly. The inhabitants are demanding sustainable solutions to put an end to the proliferation of these animals, described as an "imminent danger" to the safety of the district.
