Growing Wild Boar Population Threatens Safety in Moroccan Oases

The proliferation of wild boars in the Dades oases, near the province of Tinghir, is causing concern among residents who fear for their safety. Other Moroccan cities are also affected by the same phenomenon.
Herds of wild boars are invading the Dades oases, disturbing the peace of the region’s inhabitants, according to local sources reported by Al3omk, indicating that these residents now fear for their lives and those of their children, as well as for the safety of their property.
Faced with this situation, they are calling on the competent authorities to take urgent measures to prevent these dangerous animals from accessing inhabited areas and fields "in order to guarantee the safety of citizens and preserve the tranquility of the oasis as well as its agricultural crops." These wild boars not only threaten the safety of residents but also that of road users in the region.
To avoid "the irreparable from happening," residents are asking authorities to address the most pressing issues to curb the momentum of these wild animals that are now heading towards the neighboring communes of Ait Sedrate Sahl El Gharbia, Souk Lakhmis Dades, and Boumalne Dades.
