Morocco Weighs Travel Restrictions as Russia Faces Growing Isolation

Many countries, including France, are advising their nationals to leave Russia via the still existing connections. Given the prevailing situation there, what will Morocco’s position be?
In a context of increasing isolation of Russia, will the Moroccan authorities take measures concerning the travel of Moroccans to this country? This option could arise, due to the sanctions imposed on Russia.
In this sense, France called on Wednesday for its nationals whose presence is not essential to "make arrangements to leave the country through the still existing connections".
In a statement, the Quai d’Orsay strongly recommended that French nationals "whose presence and that of their family is not essential in Russia" make arrangements to leave the country through the still existing connections (no airline operates a direct flight between Russia and France). It is also advisable to "postpone any travel to Russia", it advised.
For now, the efforts of the Moroccan authorities are focused on Moroccans in Ukraine, in difficulty. Morocco and Russia maintain strong economic and commercial relations. A decision restricting travel could severely impact the national economy, already shaken by the rise in world prices and raw materials.
