Morocco Expands Flights to Russia as Western Sanctions Tighten

The airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has decided to strengthen its flights to Russia, in order to allow Russians to come to Morocco, one of the countries that has not closed its airspace to Vladimir Putin’s country or banned the stay of its nationals.
According to sources, Morocco is about to become one of the main destinations for Russians at this time, where Westerners are taking an avalanche of sanctions against Russia, including the closure of airspace or the ban on the stay of its nationals, reports Maghreb Intelligence. This week, crews from the national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) have submitted visa applications to the Russian Consulate General in Casablanca, the same sources say.
According to a diplomatic source, it is a question of launching as soon as possible a third weekly flight between Casablanca and Moscow instead of two currently. "These frequencies could increase in the near future and possibly serve Agadir and Essaouira," it is assured. Russian airlines such as Aeroflot and S7 Airlines could also operate flights on this route. Russian nationals are exempt from a visa to enter and stay in Morocco.
