Morocco to Address Financial Challenges for Students in Russia Amid Sanctions

Informed of the difficulties related to money transfers to Moroccan students in Russia, following the country’s exclusion from the SWIFT financial platform, the government has decided to react.
Speaking at a press briefing following the government council, Mustapha Baitas indicated that a meeting is planned at the level of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to examine the various aspects of this issue.
This decision, he stressed, stems from the government’s awareness of the situation of Moroccan students in Russia, given the difficulty of receiving money transfers from their families and relatives after the economic sanctions against the country.
This meeting will see the participation of officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Foreign Exchange Office and the professional banking group in Morocco, he specified.
