Morocco Weather Alert: Strong Winds and Sandstorms Hit Several Regions
Since 11:30 this Thursday, several regions have been experiencing “strong wind gusts accompanied by sand or dust storms.” Placed under orange weather alert, this weather event is marked by wind speeds “ranging between 75 and 110 km/h.”
The provinces of Al Haouz and Taroudant are the most exposed, with gusts “ranging between 95 and 110 km/h.” Other areas are experiencing winds of 75 to 95 km/h, notably in Chichaoua, Inezgane-Aït Melloul, Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, Guelmim, Tata, Azilal, Chtouka-Aït Baha, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Ouarzazate, Tanger-Assilah and Fahs-Anjra.

This highly intense phenomenon, which began late in the morning, is expected to continue throughout the evening and the coming night. This episode of strong winds and dust “will continue until Friday 27 February at 9 a.m.”
