Morocco Issues Heat Wave Alert as Temperatures Soar Across Multiple Regions
The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert bulletin, forecasting a heat wave and strong winds accompanied by dust storms in several regions of the country.
This Saturday, the mercury will record between 28 and 33°C in the provinces of Sidi Bennour, Kenitra, Guelmim, Tan-Tan, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, Benslimane, Berrechid, Essaouira, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, Nouaceur, Rabat, Salé, Skhirate-Témara, El Jadida and Safi. This heat wave is expected to persist until Monday.
On Sunday, the provinces of Guelmim, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Sidi Ifni, Taroudant, Tiznit, Al Haouz, Chichaoua and Essaouira will be swept by strong gusts of wind reaching 75 to 85 km/h, carrying dust clouds, warns the DGM.
