Morocco Braces for Severe Cold Snap and Heavy Snowfall

Morocco is preparing to face an intense cold wave, accompanied by snowfall and thunderstorms. The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an "orange" level alert bulletin for several Moroccan regions.
Snowfall between 15 and 35 cm is expected this Monday in the provinces of Azilal, Tinghir, Al Haouz and Ouarzazate. The provinces of Midelt, Taroudant, Beni Mellal and Ifrane will also be affected by this phenomenon, with less significant snow accumulations (5 to 10 cm).
In parallel with this snowfall, a cold wave will settle over the Kingdom. Minimum temperatures will drop between -5 and 1°C, while maximums will fluctuate between 4 and 10°C. These freezing conditions will persist until Wednesday in the provinces of Boulemane, Midelt, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Figuig and Ouarzazate.
In addition to snow and cold, locally heavy thunderstorms (15 to 30 mm) have hit several provinces of the country. On Sunday, the regions of Youssoufia, Rehamna, Marrakech, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Chichaoua, Settat, Khouribga, Benslimane and Fquih Ben Salah were particularly affected.
