Morocco’s Walid Regragui Nominated for Best National Team Coach Award

Having become the first Arab and African coach to reach a World Cup semi-final, Walid Regragui has just been nominated for the award of best national team coach by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
Among the contenders for this title are Frenchman Didier Deschamps, runner-up in the Qatar World Cup and winner of the trophy in 2020, and Zlatko Dalić, who led his team to third place in the last World Cup with Croatia, not to mention the World Cup winner, Argentine Lionel Scaloni, coach of the champion team.
The coach of the Atlas Lions is no stranger to the world of football. A former Moroccan international, Walid Regragui was last season the coach of Wydad de Casablanca. His performances with the club are still fresh in people’s minds, as he won the CAF Champions League and the championship.
