Morocco’s Walid Regragui Named Africa’s Top Coach After World Cup Success

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, was elected best African coach of the year 2022.
According to the sports news site Foot Africa, which conducted a survey, the Moroccan technician tops the ranking of the best coaches in Africa in 2022, with 44.42% of the votes. Users recognized the leadership of the Moroccan coach, who proved his know-how at the World Cup in Qatar.
Morocco, led by their "local coach", caused a sensation in this tournament, beating the great football nations, such as Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Canada. The Atlas Lions became the 4th best team in the competition.
Appointed head of the Atlas Lions only three months before the 2022 World Cup, Walid Regragui became the first African coach in history to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup final. Moreover, the talented Moroccan had already been elected best coach of the 2022 World Cup by the British magazine The Atlantic.
In addition, other awards have been given to Moroccan players and clubs. We cite as an example, the Moroccan central midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, who was elected African Revelation of the Year, and the Moroccan champion Zouhair El Moutaraji (Wydad Casablanca) who was named best player playing in Africa.
