Morocco Unveils Plan to Harness Diaspora Talent for National Development

The current changes experienced by Moroccans living abroad must review the objectives and priorities concerning this category of Moroccans, to align them with the challenges of the situation, said the delegate minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad, Nezha El Ouafi. This emerged from her speech on Friday in Rabat during the 7th meeting of the technical committee from the ministerial commission in charge of Moroccans living abroad.
In order to support Moroccans living abroad to participate in the development of their country, the ministry is committed to developing a new approach to bring together the skills and investments of Moroccans living abroad. Given the value of administrative decentralization, the minister indicated that her department also supports the advanced regionalization projects, taking into account the regional dimension in the management of the affairs of Moroccans living abroad and the national strategy for migration and asylum.
Apart from that, the ministerial commission in charge of Moroccans living abroad has also made recommendations that have helped resolve several problems and alleviate the concerns of Moroccans living abroad, particularly at the administrative, consular, social, cultural, legal and investment levels.
The mission officer at the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), Aziz Rifki, for his part, indicated through a press statement that the CCME presented a note to the Special Commission on the Development Model and to the supervisory ministry concerning Moroccan skills and the globalization of migration, as well as some recommendations that can meet the expectations of Moroccans living abroad.
It should be noted that the meeting of the technical committee resulting from the ministerial commission in charge of Moroccans living abroad was mainly dedicated to the analysis of the national program for the mobilization of Moroccan skills abroad and the institutional framework related to it. Two projects set up by a joint team and the Ministry of National Education.
