Morocco U23 Coach Dismissed Months Before Olympics, Reports Link Regragui to Decision

We know a little more about the real reasons that could justify the hasty departure of Issame Charaï from the Moroccan U23 national team. Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, would be behind this dismissal, a few months before the Olympic Games (OG) scheduled from July 26 to August 11, 2024 in Paris.
Although Issame Charaï’s record at the head of the Moroccan U-23 national team speaks in his favor, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has replaced the technician with Tarik Sektioui, a few months before the 2024 Paris Olympics. If the dismissal of the one who is the winner of the U-23 CAN "is part of the new course set by the National Selection Commission which revolves around coordination and exchange between the technical staff of the national teams, all categories combined", Hesport believes that the reasons are elsewhere.
The site evokes a conflict between the coach of the Atlas Lions, Walid Regragui and the coach of the Lion Cubs, without providing further details. This conflict would have pushed the FRMF to dismiss Issame Charaï who had allowed Morocco to win its first Africa Cup of Nations among the under-23s at the Moulay-Abdallah sports complex in Rabat, on July 8, 2023 and who was named best coach of the competition.
