Morocco U20 Eliminated from Arab Cup After 2-1 Loss to Egypt

The Moroccan national football team will not go any further than the quarter-finals of the Arab Under-20 Cup. It lost on Sunday evening against Egypt (1-2) in the match played in Abha, Saudi Arabia.
However, Morocco had started the match well thanks to Oussama El Yaakoubi, who had scored the first goal in the 22nd minute. Feeling in danger, the Egyptians managed to equalize in the 31st minute with a shot from Ahmed Hawach.
After the break, the Moroccans had many opportunities without being able to capitalize on them. Unexpectedly, Salah Mustapha increased the score for Egypt in the 61st minute. Morocco is thus out of the competition, leaving its place to Egypt, which joins Palestine and Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals.
The Moroccan under-20 national team had qualified for the quarter-finals after finishing leaders of group F with 6 points, winning against Sudan (4-2) and Palestine (1-0). Morocco was aiming for a third title after winning in 1989 and 2011.
