Morocco U17 Team Advances to Arab Cup Semi-Finals with 2-0 Victory over Egypt
Quietly, the Atlas Lions (under 17) are paving their way to the trophy, by qualifying for the semi-finals of the Arab Cup. They took their revenge on Egypt, who had ended their run in the quarter-finals just a month ago.
There was no question of the Atlas Lions stopping in the quarter-finals as was the case for the Arab U20 Cup. While the two teams ended the first half in a draw (0-0), the Moroccans were offensive and determined in the second half, scoring two goals signed Abdelhamid Maalli and Hamza El Moutawakkil, reports L’Opinion.
For Egypt, who thought they would make short work of Morocco, the adventure is over. On Monday, the Moroccans will have to redouble their efforts to take on the Yemenis in order to secure their ticket to the final. The semi-final between Morocco and Yemen is on Monday, September 5 from 4:30 pm.
