Morocco U17 Team to Compete in AFCON Qualifier for World Cup Berth in Algeria

The Moroccan national under-17 team will finally participate in the next Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Algeria from April 29 to May 19, 2023. This announcement was confirmed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, which also congratulated the players on their qualification and called on them to honor Moroccan football during this continental tournament.

For the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, the value of this Africa Cup of Nations lies in the fact that it is a qualifying tournament for the World Cup, stressing that participation in the World Cup at this age remains an important step for the players in order to raise their level and confront other football schools on an international scale.

Fouzi Lekjaa also urged all the players of the national under-17 team to work harder with seriousness, professionalism and scientific method, taking care of all aspects related to their football career, as they represent the future of Moroccan football.

The Federation President also stressed the need to continue working hard, as he believes it is the only way for future generations to be able to wear the national team jersey, from one category to another, emphasizing the importance of taking into account all the aspects that contribute to improving the level of the players, from training to nutrition and lifestyle.

The Moroccan under-17 national team is in group B alongside the teams of Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia, according to the draw made for the Africa Cup of Nations.
