Morocco Trains Qatari Security Experts for World Cup Cybersecurity

Morocco is showing its willingness to provide its expertise and know-how in security matters to Qatar, the host country of the next World Cup. Qatari security experts are currently in Rabat, to receive training on combating the cyber activity of terrorist movements.

Morocco is putting its words into action. On the sidelines of its participation in the International Land Security and Civil Defense Exhibition, called "Milipol Qatar 2022", Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security (DGSN), also Director General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) assured that the kingdom would support Qatar - the first country in the Middle East to host the World Cup - in the field of security, particularly in securing football matches. Currently, high-level Moroccan specialists are providing training to security experts from Qatar, reports Le360. They are receiving Moroccan expertise in the fight against cybercrime, particularly in the use of the internet for terrorist purposes.

This training aims to strengthen the capacities and skills of Qatari security personnel, particularly in the fight against the cyber activity of terrorist organizations, and to allow them to benefit from Moroccan expertise in this field. It meets international standards and is part of the Moroccan-Qatari cooperation in the field of security and the implementation of the provisions of the Security Cooperation Agreement, recently signed between Morocco and Qatar concerning the contribution of Moroccan security to the security of the 2022 World Cup.
