Morocco Offers Security Expertise to Qatar for 2022 World Cup Preparations

Morocco has decided to bring its expertise and know-how in security matters to Qatar, the host country of the next World Cup. In this regard, Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security (DGSN), also Director General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), met with several Qatari officials and visited one of the stadiums where the competition will take place.
On the sidelines of his participation in the International Land Security and Civil Defense Exhibition, called "Milipol Qatar 2022", which was held from May 24 to 26, the head of the Moroccan police was successively received by Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz al-Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar and Saad bin Jassim Al-Khulaifi, Director General of Public Security. In tweets, the Qatari Ministry of Interior specified that the exchanges focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Morocco and Qatar, particularly in the security field.
Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz al-Thani expressed his country’s desire to organize the World Cup at "the highest levels of security and safety in the history of World Cups". Qatar is counting on Morocco’s experience in the field of security, particularly in securing football matches, to meet this challenge. And, Morocco is willing to support it in this regard.
Abdellatif Hammouchi visited the main stadium where the 2022 Qatar World Cup final will be held. He inspected the various facilities of this stadium and also went to the cybersecurity command center. There, the head of the Moroccan police had a working session with senior Qatari officials, during which he promised to send a team of experts in the fight against cyber attacks to Qatar to strengthen the effectiveness of this center. Abdellatif Hammouchi also visited the operations room in charge of the security arrangements for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
