Morocco Swelters as Heatwave Pushes Temperatures to 42°C (108°F)

High temperatures are settling in Morocco, with still hot weather for this Tuesday, June 18. Up to 42 degrees are expected today.
According to the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN), hot weather is expected in most of Morocco, particularly in the south, southeast and far south of the country.
This morning, 10 to 17 degrees are expected in the reliefs, Tangier, the Atlantic plains, the phosphate and Oulmes plateaus, the Souss, and the northwest of the southern provinces, 24 to 27 degrees in the southeast and far south of the country, and 17 to 24 degrees elsewhere.
This afternoon, it will be 24 to 30 degrees in the reliefs, the Mediterranean, Tangier and near the Atlantic coasts, 30 to 36 degrees in the Oriental, the Saiss, the Atlantic plains, the interior plains, the phosphate and Oulmes plateaus, the Souss, the southeastern slopes and the north of the southern provinces, and 36 to 42 degrees in the southeast and far south of the country.
These high temperatures should persist in the coming days, according to DMN forecasts.
