Morocco’s Summer Program Engages 150,000 Youth in Nationwide Activities

Opened on July 14, the national program "Summer 2021" ended on August 21. A total of 150,000 children and adolescents took part in these local animation activities initiated by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, in partnership with the National Federation of Holiday Camps.
This program, spread over five stages, saw the participation of 400 associations and mobilized 25,000 associative and administrative supervisors, details la Map, adding that the thematic, cultural, sports and awareness-raising activities, dedicated to children aged 7-15 and 15-18, took place in reception centers, holiday camps, youth centers, women’s clubs and socio-sports complexes, i.e. 650 spaces opened throughout the kingdom.
In these various spaces, means and equipment were made available by the supervisory ministry, "including catering, air conditioning, disinfection and hygiene products, given the epidemiological situation," said Mohamed Kartiti, president of the National Federation of Holiday Camps, satisfied that the program has not experienced any Covid-19 cases since its launch. And to add that, put on hold for almost two years due to the health crisis, this program has also allowed children to breathe again and be able to thrive.
The "Summer 2021" proximity animation program has an important educational value that should contribute to the fulfillment of the rising generations, rejoiced for his part, the head of the holiday camp service at the supervisory ministry, Abderrahmane Ajbari. According to this official, this holiday camp should be seen as a rehabilitation of the roles played by the establishments dedicated to animation for the benefit of youth and childhood.
"Summer 2021" has achieved its objective, namely access to educational and social animation for children and young people, especially in this pandemic period, also stressed Othmane Gair, the director of youth, childhood and women’s affairs at the same ministry.
