Morocco to Launch COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign for Students Aged 12-17

Morocco will start a large-scale vaccination campaign for all students aged 12 to 17 years old. This is set to begin on August 31.
The vaccination operation, which aims to ensure good conditions for the start of the school year, concerns all students in public and private education, as well as foreign mission schools, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Health.
The vaccination of children must be done with the authorization of the parents or guardians of the enrolled children, the statement said. As for the vaccination sites, they will be communicated later on the ministry’s website, the regional education and training academies’ websites and the ministry’s official social media pages, not to mention that mobile vaccination units will be mobilized in rural areas.
It should be noted that the vaccination of those over 18 continues in the various vaccination centers in the country. Thus, the two ministries call on the parents or guardians of the students to accompany their children to the vaccination centers to be vaccinated. Compliance with the health measures established by the authorities must continue to avoid the worsening of the epidemiological situation.
