Morocco’s Key Ministers Forgo Summer Vacation Amid National Priorities

As last year, some ministers will not benefit from their vacation this summer. The reason is the involvement of their respective departments in the supervision and monitoring of urgent matters for the country.
These include the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Delegate Minister Noureddine Boutayeb, the Minister of Health Khalid Aït Taleb and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, reports the daily Al Akhbar.
These four members of the government are being held respectively for the preparation of the next electoral deadlines, the supervision of the Covid-19 pandemic and the monitoring of the acceleration of diplomatic developments.
In addition, a circular from the Head of Government had required government officials to opt for destinations within the national territory. The preparations for the campaign for the legislative elections, scheduled for September, could shorten the vacations.
