Moroccan Opposition Summons Top Ministers Over Pegasus Spyware Allegations

While Morocco has opened a judicial investigation into the espionage allegations and filed a complaint in Paris, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has summoned two ministers before Parliament.
The initiative comes from the Secretary General of the PAM, the lawyer Abdellatif Ouahbi. In a letter addressed to Habib El Malki, President of the House of Representatives and to the President of the House of Councillors, Hakim Benchamass, the PAM parliamentary group has summoned Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad and Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior, before Parliament.
The wish of the PAM deputies is to hear the two senior officials during special meetings of the Foreign Affairs and Interior Committees. It remains to be seen whether the two ministers will respond to the summons of the PAM elected officials, as Morocco has already opened a judicial investigation and filed a complaint for defamation in Paris against Amnesty International and Forbidden Stories at the origin of the espionage allegations.
