Morocco’s Key Ministers Forgo Summer Vacations Amid Pandemic Crisis

Health context obliges, some ministers will not be able to go on vacation this August. The announcement was made by the head of government, Saâdeddine El Othmani.
"I myself will not benefit from a few days off given the political and health context. The government as a government in charge of the pandemic has no vacation. Thus, the ministers with a very important responsibility in the government will not go on vacation either," El Othmani told Le360. He cites the ministers of the Interior, Health, Foreign Affairs, and Finance.
"We must pay tribute to the staff of the administrations of these ministerial departments for their total and permanent mobilization during this crisis," added the head of government. As for the other ministers, they will benefit "between three days and one week of leave during this month of August," he said.
On Saturday, Morocco recorded 10,609 cases of contamination and 92 deaths. In total, 2,148 new cases were recorded in the city of Casablanca alone, 653 in Marrakech, 378 in Agadir and 680 in Salé.
