Morocco Stuns Portugal with 3-3 Draw in Futsal World Cup Thriller
Historic performance of the national Futsal team against Portugal on Sunday, as part of the 3rd day of the World Cup being held in Lithuania. Hicham Dguig’s protégés managed to snatch a draw against Portugal, one of the favorites of the competition.
The Moroccans managed to shake Portugal despite a solid defense. The Moroccan goals were scored by Jaouad (2nd minute), Anas El Ayyan (24th minute) and Bilal Bakkali (37th minute), reports snrtnews.com.
As for the Portuguese, they took the lead twice, and scored their three goals thanks to Fabio Cecilio (9th minute), Tiago Brito (17th minute) and Bruno Coelho (29th minute).
Even if Morocco, in the opinion of some observers, is struggling to impose its style of play, the players managed to get out of it by securing their ticket for the round of 16. Holding Portugal to a draw is a confidence test for the players who hope to be on the podium.
Hicham Dguig’s men finished this first phase of the World Cup with two draws and one win and take second place in their group with 5 points. They must face Venezuela in the round of 16.
