Morocco Breaks into Futsal World Top 15 After Historic World Cup Performance

The performance of the Atlas Lions at the Futsal World Cup in Lithuania has propelled them up the World Futsal ranking. The double African champions reach the world Top 15 for the first time.
The World Futsal ranking was updated on Monday, September 20, and the Atlas Lions find themselves in 15th place globally. Hicham Dguig’s men owe this advancement to their historic first-time qualification for the second round of the World Cup in the discipline. They face Venezuela this Wednesday, September 22 in Kaunas.
For their participation in this edition, Morocco finished second in Group C with 5 points (1 win and 2 draws) behind Portugal (7 pts) and ahead of Thailand (4 pts) and the Solomon Islands (0 pt).
