Morocco’s Futsal Team Receives Hero’s Welcome After Historic World Cup Run

It was at 10:40 pm that the plane from Lithuania, carrying the Atlas Lions of Futsal, landed on the tarmac of Rabat-Salé airport. Soufiane El Mesrar and his teammates, led by coach Hicham Dguig, are returning to the country after having written a beautiful history of the discipline in Lithuania.

Even though they lost in the quarterfinals against Brazil, 2nd in the world ranking, the Atlas Lions had a historic run at the Futsal World Cup.
