Morocco Stuns Venezuela 3-2, Advances to Futsal World Cup Quarter-Finals

The Moroccan Futsal national team achieved an exploit by qualifying for the quarter-finals of the World Cup being held in Lithuania. Morocco beat Venezuela 3-2.
The men of Hicham Dguig have not stopped surprising since the start of the competition. Moreover, on Wednesday, they were the ones who opened the scoring, two minutes after the start of the match, through Soufiane El Masrar. The Venezuelans equalized in the 7th minute through Viamonte, before El Masrar scored again in the 9th minute. At halftime, the score was 2-1.
Upon returning from the locker room, Soufiane El Masrar increased the score, thus achieving a hat-trick. Determined to snatch a place for the quarter-finals, the Venezuelans reduced the score again but the Moroccans, seeing the danger coming, fought to keep the score as it was, even if on both sides there were enough opportunities that could have turned into goals.
Pleased with the exploit achieved by his protégés, coach Hicham Dguig thanked all the players for honoring Morocco in this World Cup. For him, this breakthrough of the Atlas Lions is the result of hard work that has been going on since 2020 with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
For players Younes Boumzoun, Driss Raiss, Achraf Saoud and Hamza Bouyouzan, qualification was not easy, especially knowing that Venezuela is a tenacious team.
