Morocco’s El Mesrar Embraces Challenge Against Futsal Powerhouse Brazil in World Cup Quarter-Finals

By allowing Morocco to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Futsal World Cup currently being played in Lithuania, Soufiane El Mesrar knows that the task will not be easy at this level of the competition. He indicated in an interview with the official FIFA website that facing Brazil, 2nd in the world ranking, will not be an easy task.
"Everyone knows this team, its history, its stars. We know it will be a difficult match, that we will be under pressure, and we will have to defend very well. It will be very difficult for us, but it has to be for them too," said Soufiane El Mesrar, author of a hat-trick in the confrontation with Venezuela in the round of 16.
Graduated in Computer Networks and holder of a degree in Organic Chemistry, Soufiane El Mesrar is happy to know that Morocco will face one of the best Futsal teams in the world. "If you play three World Cups and you never play against Brazil, it’s frustrating! I finally have this chance for the first time."
"If someone had told me in 2010 that I was going to play the World Cup - and even three World Cups! - and then play a quarter-final against Brazil, I would have called him a liar," he added.
Morocco faces Brazil this Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm Moroccan time. A victory ensures a chance for Hicham Dguig’s protégés to find themselves on the podium.
