Morocco Slips to 42nd in FIFA World Rankings After Friendly Match Setbacks

Following disappointing results in its last two friendly matches, Morocco has again fallen in the FIFA ranking of October 24, now ranking 42nd.
From 39th place, Morocco now occupies the 42nd position. It thus loses three good points worldwide and maintains its 5th continental position, just behind the defending champion, Algeria and ahead of Egypt (6th), Ghana (7th), Cameroon (8th), DR Congo (9th) and Côte d’Ivoire (10th).
Far behind Morocco, Nigeria (3rd), Tunisia (2nd) and Senegal (1st) find themselves in the top three.
This drop can be explained by the recent poor performances of the Atlas Lions in the friendly matches in October, during which the Lions obtained a draw against Libya (1-1), before losing to Gabon (2-3).
This ranking does not bode well for the Atlas Lions. Vahid Halilhodzic and his players must roll up their sleeves, as Morocco is starting its qualifying matches in November against Mauritania, for the first day of Group 5, which also includes the Central African Republic and Burundi.
