Morocco Set to Receive 5.2 Million COVID-19 Vaccine Doses from AstraZeneca and Sinopharm

Morocco will receive, in the next few days, several doses of the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines. The vaccination campaign is in full swing.
Morocco is awaiting 4.5 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine which are scheduled for imminent delivery and 700,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine in the next few days, a well-informed source told Médias24. In total, the kingdom will receive 5.2 million doses of the anti-Covid vaccine in the coming days, probably starting this weekend, barring last-minute changes.
With the upcoming deliveries, Morocco, which has opted to reserve the second dose for anyone who has received the first, will be able to vaccinate 2.6 million people. These additional doses and the 2.5 million doses already received (2 million of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 500,000 of Sinopharm) will allow to vaccinate 1.25 million people.
As of February 4, more than 350,000 people have received the first dose, at an average daily rate of 50,000 people.
