Morocco to Receive New Shipments of AstraZeneca and Sinopharm COVID-19 Vaccines

Morocco will receive several doses of the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines next week. The vaccination campaign is progressing rapidly.
Morocco will receive two deliveries next week: the British AstraZeneca vaccine made in India and the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, reports Al Massae without specifying the number of doses. The kingdom will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine on Saturday, February 13.
Morocco is the first African country to receive its first doses of vaccine and to launch the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus on its territory. Two weeks ago, the kingdom received 2.5 million doses (2 million of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 500,000 of Sinopharm). In total, more than 60 million doses of vaccines will have to be purchased to vaccinate 25 million Moroccans and residents.
As of February 5, 408,235 people have been vaccinated, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
