Morocco Sends 144 Religious Leaders to Support Diaspora During Ramadan

In order to provide religious support and supervision for Moroccans residing abroad (MREs), the Hassan II Foundation has announced the sending of 144 scholars, preachers and Quran reciters to Europe throughout the month of Ramadan 2023.
This operation is intended for Moroccans residing in Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, the United States, Sweden, Iceland, Switzerland, Norway and Gibraltar, informs the Hassan II Foundation. The delegation is scheduled to depart on Monday, March 20 from 9 a.m. at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.
In a press release, the Foundation specifies that these preachers will be responsible for leading religious talks and cultural activities throughout the fasting month. This religious support provided by the Foundation for MREs has been in place since 1992. In 2022, about 252 preachers had been sent to 16 countries. This year, Italy, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Hungary and Austria have not been included.
