Morocco Sends 272 Imams Abroad for Ramadan Outreach to Diaspora

The Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad is mobilizing 272 preachers in 13 foreign countries, as part of Ramadan 2025. The objective is to help these Moroccans of the diaspora prepare and live the holy month under good conditions.
These imams will be dispatched abroad from February 27 to April 1. During this period, they will lead sermons and cultural and Quranic memorization activities to accompany the Moroccans Residing Abroad (MREs) during the holy month of Ramadan, which starts on March 1. This deployment of Moroccan preachers abroad aims to preserve the spiritual and cultural link with the Moroccan diaspora.
The delegation of 272 members will consist of 38 university professors, 39 preachers holding a doctorate, 44 holders of a master’s degree, 60 holders of a bachelor’s degree, 60 preachers and 31 imams in charge of leading the Tarawih prayers.
Depending on the requests of the MREs, these imams and preachers will be distributed as follows: 75 in France, 40 in Germany, 33 in the Netherlands, 38 in Spain, 27 in Italy, 33 in Belgium, 10 in Canada, 6 in the United States, 4 in Sweden, 2 in England, 1 in Hungary, 2 in Norway and 1 in Iceland. A total of 13 countries.
For the record, the Hassan II Foundation has been supporting associations and mosques in the organization of seminars and Quranic recitation competitions for children since 1992.
