Morocco's Selim Amallah Sets Sights on African Cup of Nations Victory

Moroccan international Selim Amallah has expressed his desire to win the next African Cup of Nations (CAN) trophy with the Atlas Lions.

In an interview with Sud Info, the striker playing for Standard de Liège says he dreams of being part of this golden generation of Morocco that will sit on the roof of Africa next January in Cameroon.

"I hope to play the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco and win it. We are the favorites, as often, but it’s been a long time since we won this event," he confided, adding that "Morocco has a beautiful team, the only one in the world to have won all its World Cup qualifying matches for Qatar. I hope to do something great with my national team."

Regarding his future at his club, Amallah said he will be focused on the national team and the Africa Cup of Nations, as it will coincide with the winter transfer window. "Of course my ambition is to join a club in a more prestigious championship, but I don’t put any pressure on myself," affirmed the player.
