Morocco Rises to 11th in FIFA World Rankings, Claims Top Spot in Africa

Thanks to its performance at the World Cup, Morocco has made a breakthrough in the FIFA ranking both at the African and global level.
First in Africa and eleventh worldwide, the Moroccan players continue to reap the fruits of their unprecedented run in Qatar. Walid Regragui’s men have dethroned Senegal, the leader of the ranking in Africa for many months.
"Morocco has made spectacular leaps in the ranking. The Atlas Lions are even the team of the year, having collected no less than 142 points in the last 12 months," can be read on the FIFA website.
At the global level, it is Brazil that reigns at the top of the ranking, ahead of Argentina who won the World Cup. If Lionel Messi and his teammates had won without going through the penalty shootout, they would be leaders of the ranking.
