Morocco Holds 11th Spot in FIFA World Rankings, Remains Top African Team

The FIFA ranking of men’s national teams was unveiled this Thursday, April 7 by the world football governing body. Argentina, the reigning world champion, has regained the top spot in the ranking for the first time in 6 years, while Morocco maintains its eleventh place.
France, for its part, is making a nice move by climbing one place to reach the second position, just behind Argentina. The Blues are reaching the top 2 of the FIFA ranking for the first time since May 2021. The Atlas Lions, for their part, maintain their 11th place.
Belgium, eliminated in the group stage of the last World Cup, is in 4th position, followed by England, the Netherlands and Croatia. Despite their recent disappointments, Italy, Portugal and Spain complete the top 10.
As for Africa, the African Nations Championship was not taken into account in Morocco’s performance, thus explaining its unchanged 11th position. The Atlas Lions remain the CAF ranking leader, ahead of Senegal, the tournament winner, who climbs one place to 18th position. Tunisia is now 28th after being 30th last December. Algeria, on the other hand, gains six places (34th) thanks to its CHAN final. Cameroon is making a bad move by losing nine places in the FIFA ranking (43rd) and three places in the CAF ranking (7th).
