Morocco Retains Halilhodzic as Coach Ahead of Crucial World Cup Qualifiers

Despite the rumors of departure, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) should keep Vahid Halilhodzic in his position as coach of the Atlas Lions.
Vahid Halilhodzic will not leave before the matches the Moroccan national team will play against the Democratic Republic of Congo, as part of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar. This is what Mohamed Maqrouf, an official within the FRMF, said in an interview with Radio Mars. "We cannot part ways with Vahid when the national team will have a decisive match against the DRC. We will not be able to hire a new coach, it’s impossible," he said.
The coach’s future will be decided after these two matches or after the World Cup if Morocco qualifies in March. Vahid Halilhodzic is giving a press conference this Thursday at the Mohammed VI Complex in Salé to explain the performance of the national team and certainly on his future as coach of the Atlas Lions.
