Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Vows to Resign if Team Fails to Qualify for 2022 World Cup

Moroccan coach Vahid Halilhodzic says he is ready to resign if he fails to qualify Morocco for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
"My first objective is to make sure the team qualifies, and if I don’t succeed, I could leave," Vahid Halilhodzic said at a press conference held at the Mohammed VI Complex in Salé on Thursday. The Franco-Bosnian coach is asking to be allowed to continue and do everything he can to qualify Morocco for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Atlas Lions will face the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on March 24 and 29 in the qualifying playoffs for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
This mission seems difficult for the Moroccan coach who will not be able to count on two of his players, Soufian Chakla and Soufiane Boufal, who scored several goals during the CAN 2021. They were suspended by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for "violent behavior" after the defeat of the Atlas Lions against the Pharaohs of Egypt during extra time (2-1) in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2021). This high-stakes quarter-final led to fights.
