Morocco Set to Replace Coach Halilhodzic Ahead of 2022 World Cup

Everything seems ready for Vahid Halilhodzic’s departure. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) would even have convinced the next coach who will lead the Atlas Lions to the next 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The FRMF seems to have decided on the future of Vahid Halilhodzic at the head of the national football team. The coach’s adventure with the Atlas Lions is about to come to an end a few months before the World Cup.
Even though he has accomplished wonders by qualifying Morocco for the World Cup, his clashes with several players including Hakim Ziyech and Noussair Mazraoui have somewhat tarnished the work done and would be the source of his uncomfortable position at the head of the Moroccan team.
The Moroccan Football Federation would have already identified his successor, to whom a three-year contract would have been offered. It would be Walid Regragui, the current coach of Wydad Casablanca.
Coach Vahid would be spending his last few days at the head of the Moroccan selection. His entrenched position, his insistence on keeping the player Hakim Ziyech away from the Moroccan selection, will have been detrimental to him.
