Morocco Reports 22 Road Deaths and Nearly 2,000 Injuries in Urban Areas Last Week

22 deaths and 1,920 injuries, this is the toll of road accidents last week in urban areas in Morocco.
During the week of September 7 to 13, 2020, 22 people lost their lives in road accidents that occurred in urban areas. Under the same circumstances, 1,920 injuries were recorded during the same week. These accidents are mainly caused by non-compliance with the highway code, according to the DGSN.
The security services recorded 34,005 fines and drew up 9,043 reports submitted to the public prosecutor’s office regarding the control and repression of traffic offenses. In this same context, 24,962 transactional fines were collected.
It should be noted that the sums collected reached 5,126,325 dirhams, as well as the impounding of 3,670 vehicles, the seizure of 5,244 documents and the withdrawal from circulation of 129 vehicles, reports La Map.
