Morocco Receives First COVID-19 Vaccine Shipment in Africa

Morocco has managed to take a big lead over major African countries by receiving its first doses of AstraZeneca. The kingdom thus becomes the first country on the continent to receive the anti-Covid-19 vaccine.
Like the European countries, Morocco is one of the first countries to embark on the race for the vaccine against Covid-19 in Africa, reports Le360. Even if other countries on the giant continent have also decided to acquire the vaccine, the kingdom has just snatched its first doses.
As for Egypt, it has only received a tiny part of its vaccine dose, ordered free of charge by the United Arab Emirates. As for Mauritius and the Seychelles, they have also received a few small doses that can allow them to launch the vaccination campaign. As for other countries like Algeria and South Africa, they are for the time being on the waiting list.
Sources close to the ministry announce the start of the campaign as early as next week. Contrary to the Autonomous Refrigeration Company of Casablanca as announced by some local media, this first delivery has been stored in a secret location for the moment, confides the same source. According to him, this company should receive larger batches in the coming days.
