Morocco Expands COVID-19 Vaccination Effort with New Sinopharm and AstraZeneca Shipments

Morocco will receive, on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, another batch of vaccine from the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm. This new delivery should allow the continuation of the vaccination campaign launched since Thursday, January 28.
This new stock of Sinopharm vaccine consists of 500,000 doses (i.e. 250,000 vaccines), reports TelQuel Arabi. Before this reception, the kingdom had received, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, an initial stock of 500,000 doses of the Chinese vaccine. This will bring the number of doses delivered to Morocco to 1,000,000.
The same source specifies that after the first 2,000,000 doses obtained on January 22, a second batch of 4.5 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine is expected on February 13.
These new receptions could allow the kingdom not to interrupt the vaccination campaign which continues throughout the national territory. As of February 6, the kingdom has already vaccinated 463,966 people.
