Morocco Receives 500,000 Sinopharm Vaccine Doses to Boost COVID-19 Campaign

Morocco received, this Friday, July 2, 2021, an additional 500,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine. Enough to correct the slowdown in its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus.

New vaccine reception in Morocco. A Dreamliner (a Boeing 787-8) from Royal Air Maroc (RAM) landed this Friday at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, reports Le360. On Thursday, the plane took off for Beijing where it loaded and transported an additional 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm Chinese vaccine.

Morocco, one of the beneficiary countries of the Covax program, expects to receive around mid-July 600,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. As of July 1, 10,028,791 people have received the first dose. They are 9,159,495 people who have been given the two doses.
