Morocco Accelerates COVID Vaccination Drive with 1 Million Sinopharm Doses

Morocco received one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. This will accelerate the vaccination campaign against coronavirus, which has been extended to people aged 25 to 29.

The Royal Air Maroc (RAM) Dreamliner that flew to Beijing landed around 9am on Tuesday at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. The aircraft transported an additional one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine. After landing, this batch of vaccines was transported by refrigerated trucks from SNTL to the services of the Autonomous Refrigeration Authority of Casablanca (RAFC).

With this new delivery, Morocco will be able to accelerate its vaccination campaign against coronavirus, which has now been extended to the 25-29 age group. As of July 27, 12,061,160 people have received the first dose, while 9,864,912 people have received both doses. The Covid-19 report shows 581,477 cases of contamination, 546,426 recoveries and 9,611 deaths.
