Morocco Receives 1 Million Sinopharm Vaccine Doses, Expanding COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

Morocco received one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine this Sunday, August 1, 2021. This will boost the vaccination campaign against Covid-19, recently extended to people aged 25 to 29.
The Royal Air Maroc (RAM) Dreamliner that took off for Beijing on Saturday landed this Sunday at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. The aircraft ensured the transport of an additional one million doses of the Sinopharm Chinese vaccine. After landing, this batch of vaccine was transported by refrigerated trucks from the SNTL to the services of the Autonomous Refrigeration Company of Casablanca (RAFC). This new delivery brings to 20.5 million the number of doses of Chinese vaccine delivered to Morocco so far.
The received vaccine doses will allow the kingdom to accelerate the vaccination of people aged between 25 and 29 years old. As of July 31, the total number of doses administered is 23,755,510, including 13,631,005 first doses and 10,124,505 second doses. The Covid-19 report shows 615,999 cases of contamination, 557,408 recoveries and 9,732 deaths.
