Morocco Receives 1.2 Million Sinopharm Doses, Expects 5 Million More for Booster Campaign

Morocco received on Monday, October 4, more than one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine and is expecting a major delivery of the same vaccine this week. This will help the success of the campaign to inject the 3rd dose.
In total, 1.273 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine were received in Morocco on Monday as part of the Covax program. This delivery follows that of the Pfizer vaccine totaling 270,000 doses. The kingdom expects to receive 5 million doses of the Chinese vaccine on Sunday, October 10, after revising its initial order.
At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Morocco had ordered 40.5 million doses. This order has been increased to 50 million doses. In total, 41.8 million doses have been received in 29 deliveries. With these deliveries, the kingdom will be able to boost its campaign to inject the third dose.
As of October 4, 22,839,037 people have received the first dose. There are 19,427,092 people who have been injected with the two doses.
