Morocco to Receive 2 Million More Sinopharm Vaccine Doses, Boosting Vaccination Efforts

Morocco is expecting to receive a new batch of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine next week. The kingdom received two million doses of this vaccine last Tuesday.
The Chinese laboratory Sinopharm will deliver two million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to Morocco next week. This information was confirmed to Le360 by Dr. Saïd Afif, member of the scientific and technical vaccination committee. With this new delivery, the kingdom will be able to accelerate its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus, which was extended to people aged 35 to 39 on July 9. In addition, these two million doses will allow an additional one million people to be fully immunized.
Morocco has received 14.5 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine so far out of a total order of 40.5 million. There are still 26 million doses remaining. As of July 14, 10,713,551 people have received the first dose, while 9,409,395 people have had the two doses. Only 3,400 people who received the two vaccine doses contracted Covid-19 out of the 9 million vaccinated in Morocco, a percentage of 0.03%, Dr. Saïd Afif told Al Massae.
