Morocco Receives 1 Million Sinopharm Vaccine Doses, Boosting Vaccination Efforts

Morocco received an additional one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. This will allow the kingdom to resume the administration of the first dose.
A Royal Air Maroc (RAM) Dreamliner from Beijing landed at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca on Tuesday. The aircraft transported an additional one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine. After landing, this batch of vaccine was transported by refrigerated trucks from SNTL to the services of the Autonomous Refrigeration Authority of Casablanca (RAFC). This 14th delivery brings the total number of doses received to 12.5 million out of a total order of 40.5 million.
Morocco started its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus in January. But the administration of the first dose has recently experienced a slowdown. With this new delivery, citizens who wish to do so can be vaccinated again. As of July 5, 10,067,573 people have received the first dose and 9,162,960 people have had the two doses.
